Addressing a press conference at Model Town Police Station, SP Model Town Investigation Dr. Ayaz Hussain said the arrested suspects include the ringleader of the gang and his accomplice. The accused had set up a fake property dealer’s office in the Kahna area and were deceiving innocent people under the guise of renting out their houses.
Dr. Ayaz Hussain revealed that citizens would approach the suspects to rent out their properties, but instead of renting them, the gang would illegally mortgage the houses and pocket large sums of money. “The suspects have defrauded several respectable citizens by mortgaging their homes and seizing millions of rupees,” the SP said, adding that dozens of similar cases have already been registered against them.
During the operation, the police recovered Rs5 million, which had been obtained through fraudulent transactions. The recovered amount was handed over by SP Investigation Dr. Ayaz Hussain to the rightful complainants, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the SP and his dedicated team for ensuring justice and recovering their hard-earned money.
Highlighting further achievements, the SP said the Model Town Investigation Division also recovered 45 stolen mobile phones worth hundreds of thousands of rupees during the current month. The recovered valuables were returned to their owners in a ceremony held at the police station.
Dr. Ayaz Hussain said the suspects were traced and apprehended through modern technology and human intelligence. “All legal requirements are being fulfilled to ensure that the culprits receive exemplary punishment,” he affirmed.
The SP emphasized that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the top priority of Lahore Police, reiterating their firm resolve to eliminate fraudsters and criminals from society.
