LAHORE — The State Bank of Pakistan Union elections concluded with a sweeping victory for the Phool Panel, as Aamir Khan was elected President and Liaqat Sahi as Secretary General with an overwhelming majority.

According to the official results, Aamir Khan secured 433 votes for the post of President, while his rival Ikram Haidri of the Chaand Tara Panel managed only 29 votes. Similarly, for the position of Secretary General, Liaqat Sahi of the Phool Panel clinched victory with 433 votes, defeating Chaand Tara’s Talat Mehmood, who could secure just 29 votes.
The results reflect a decisive mandate from the union members, giving full confidence to the Phool Panel leadership. The victory is seen as a continuation of trust in the policies and approach of Aamir Khan and his team toward safeguarding the rights and welfare of employees.
Union members celebrated the outcome, terming it a “historic win” for collective bargaining power within the State Bank. Observers noted that the lopsided margin underlines the strong backing of employees for the Phool Panel and its leadership.
The newly elected body is expected to take charge immediately.
