LAHORE: Pakistan’s high-level business delegation will participate in the world’s first Global SMEs Summit, scheduled to be held in Davos, Switzerland, from September 3 to 5, 2025. The three-day event is being hailed as the second most significant global business gathering after the World Economic Forum.

The delegation will be led by Muhammad Yaseen, Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Industrial Sewing Machines Importers and Dealers Association (PISMIDA), on the special invitation of the Global SME Business Home, an international platform that connects enterprises with worldwide business opportunities.
Speaking about the upcoming summit, Muhammad Yaseen said the event carries extraordinary importance for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), providing access to global opportunities, partnerships, and funding. He added that venture capitalists from developed economies will participate, finalizing agreements to fund diverse projects across the globe.
He urged the Government of Pakistan to immediately activate its embassy in Switzerland to fully capitalize on this historic opportunity, emphasizing that the embassy should also facilitate the Pakistani delegation. “Thanks to the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir, the investment climate in Pakistan is now favorable. With focused attention, we can attract significant foreign investment,” he remarked.
Yaseen further revealed that a Pakistani Pavilion will be set up at the summit to showcase locally made products to an international audience. Traders, manufacturers, investors, experts, and financial institutions from across the world will visit country-specific pavilions.
“We are taking a diverse range of Pakistani products to promote them globally. Our goal is not only to highlight Pakistan’s potential but also to secure maximum investment opportunities through meetings and side sessions during the summit,” he added.
The participation of Pakistan in this milestone summit is being seen as a golden gateway to global recognition for its SME sector, potentially unlocking new avenues for trade, investment, and international partnerships.
