LAHORE: Punjab’s Provincial Minister, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, paid an urgent visit to the flood-affected areas of Lahore and personally supervised the ongoing rescue and relief operations. The Minister reviewed arrangements in Sher Bengal Labour Colony and adjoining localities, inspecting measures being taken to safely relocate the affected population.
Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar stated that Sher Bengal, Katarband Road, Thokar, Mureedwal Darbar, and surrounding areas are among the worst hit. However, the Government of Punjab, the district administration, and rescue agencies are working around the clock to shift people to safer places.
The Provincial Minister emphasized that the flood victims would not be left alone under any circumstances. He assured that the protection of lives and property remains the government’s top priority, and that all necessary relief facilities are being provided to the displaced families.
He added that ensuring the safe evacuation of the affected population is the foremost priority of the Punjab Government. Praising the efforts of the frontline responders, he said that Rescue 1122, WASA, police, and district administration personnel are rendering commendable services by risking their own lives to protect the people.
Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar reaffirmed his commitment that the Punjab Government would continue to stand by the flood victims until their rehabilitation is ensured and all necessary facilities are provided.
