In Lahore, more than 1,200 Safe City cameras are actively monitoring Imambargahs, religious gatherings (Majalis), and mourning processions round-the-clock. Additional portable cameras have also been installed at all sensitive locations to further enhance surveillance. The routes of major mourning processions are being monitored through Safe City’s Mobile Command Vehicles, while Smart Safe City Centers established in other districts of Punjab have been fully activated to ensure foolproof security and surveillance across the province.
The public is strictly advised that no religious gatherings or processions will be allowed at locations or routes other than those officially designated. To ensure timely response to any untoward incident, police communication officers and technical teams are performing 24/7 duties at the Safe City Headquarters, while officers from Lahore Police and other law enforcement agencies are also present inside the Safe City Control Room.
PSCA’s dedicated social media team is actively engaged in virtual patrolling to prevent the spread of hate speech, sectarian content, and inflammatory material on social media platforms. Continuous monitoring is being carried out, and accounts spreading such content are being identified. So far, over 15,000 such links have been reported to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), with more than 9,000 links already blocked to curb online provocation and prevent sectarian unrest.
Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity or individual by dialing 15. Punjab Safe Cities Authority remains fully committed to utilizing modern technology to maintain peace, security, and the safety of the public across the province.
