TEHRAN/WASHINGTON (Web Desk) – Iran’s military has claimed that 560 American troops have been killed in its retaliatory strikes targeting US assets across the Gulf region, dramatically escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington.

According to Iranian military officials, missile and drone attacks were launched on US bases in Kuwait and Bahrain. Iranian authorities further alleged that three American and British oil tankers were struck and are currently ablaze in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian state media also reported that ballistic missiles targeted the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, claiming the vessel was hit along with other ships in the US naval fleet. Iranian sources stated that four missiles were fired at the carrier strike group operating in regional waters.
However, the US military has strongly rejected the claims. In a statement, United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said that USS Abraham Lincoln was not struck and that Iranian missiles did not come close to the carrier group.
CENTCOM confirmed that three American service members were killed and five others injured in recent hostilities. The command added that more than 1,000 targets inside Iran have been struck in ongoing large-scale US air operations.
The sharply conflicting accounts could not be independently verified. Analysts warn that the exchange of claims highlights the risk of misinformation amid fast-moving military developments.
Regional security remains fragile as both sides signal continued military operations. International observers have called for restraint to prevent a broader escalation that could disrupt global energy supplies and maritime traffic in the strategically vital Gulf waters.
