LAHORE: The Punjab government decided to introduce cooperative farming to increase cultivation of vegetables including tomatoes and onions.
Vegetable farmer group consisting of 5 to 10 farmers will get subsidy on seeds, fertilizers, drip irrigation and solarization.
In Punjab, a project of cultivation of onion and tomato will be launched on 2000 acres.
Due to the off-season cultivation, there will be no artificial inflation due to local availability of onions and tomatoes in Punjab for 6 months.

Approval to start agriculture machinery rental services across Punjab for the convenience of farmers.
Tractors, harvesters and other modern agricultural machinery will be available on rent to farmers on a No-Profit, No-Loss basis.
