KARACHI: Syed Aman Shah, Provincial Convener of the Awaam Pakistan Party Balochistan, has expressed profound sorrow and grief over the tragic loss of lives and widespread destruction caused by the recent devastating rains and floods in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially Swat, Buner and other affected areas.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and said the entire nation shares in their pain during this difficult time.

He also voiced concern over the damages and hardships faced by the people of Karachi due to recent monsoon rains, stating that such extreme weather events are a growing threat in every region of the country.

Syed Aman Shah emphasized that the severity of the recent floods and abnormal weather patterns clearly indicate that Pakistan, like the rest of the world, is now facing the serious impacts of climate change. Unseasonal and extreme rains, rapidly melting glaciers, and shifting weather trends are having direct and devastating effects on the environment, infrastructure, and communities.

He stressed the urgent need for comprehensive climate policies, public awareness campaigns, and the implementation of a modern disaster management system to address and mitigate the risks posed by such environmental disasters.

Syed Aman Shah called upon both federal and provincial governments to accelerate relief efforts on an emergency basis. He urged authorities to provide tents, food supplies, clean drinking water, and medical care to the affected families, along with immediate financial support for the bereaved families and proper treatment for the injured.

He further emphasized the need to prioritize restoration of basic infrastructure in the affected areas, including the repair of damaged roads and the restoration of electricity and water supply. He also called for long-term protective measures to be put in place to prevent future disasters caused by floods and heavy rainfall.

In conclusion, Syed Aman Shah made a heartfelt appeal to the nation to come forward and support the flood-affected families during this crisis. He said that national unity and solidarity are our greatest strengths in such challenging times, and that we must work collectively to ensure a safe, resilient, and sustainable future for the coming generations.
