MULTAN, — Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, addressing the Convocation 2025 of a private university as Chief Guest, said that education is a basic constitutional right, yet nearly 25 million children remain out of school.
He noted that 97% of students are enrolled in public sector institutions, but a major spending gap exists between public and private education. Highlighting the Punjab government’s increased education budget—from Rs. 17 billion to Rs. 46 billion—he said the state is prioritizing enhanced facilities, improved standards and teacher training.
He urged private educational institutions to support government efforts and promote educational equality. The Speaker also distributed degrees and certificates to graduating students, encouraging them to contribute toward national development and social uplift.
