LAHORE: The Punjab Government Pensioners Association (PGPA) has formally announced its newly elected office bearers for the term 2025–2027, following a transparent electoral process and thorough scrutiny of nomination papers. All candidates were declared successful unopposed.
According to the official notification issued by Election Commissioner Mr. Qaiser Saleem (Former Secretary), the elected office bearers are as follows:
Riaz Ahmad (Chairman), Khalid Islam (President), Nazir Ahmad Nasir (Senior Vice President), Saghir Ahmad (Vice President),
Mian Habib Khalid Habib (General Secretary), Ghulam Yasin Malik (Joint Secretary),
Muhammad Saleem Khan (Finance Secretary), and Rana Muhammad Mahmood (Information Secretary).
During the Annual General Body Meeting, the newly elected office bearers also took their oath of office and assured the members that they would make every possible effort to address pensioners’ issues, resolve longstanding financial challenges, and strengthen institutional functioning through effective representation.
It was further announced that renowned public service figure and former Chief Comptroller/Secretary to the Chief Minister’s Office, Yawar Mehdi, will continue to serve as the Patron-in-Chief of the Association. He plays a key role in policy guidance, organizational stability, and raising pensioners’ concerns at higher forums.
The meeting was held yesterday at Alhamra Hall, Lahore, and was attended by pensioners and senior members from across Punjab.
According to PGPA representatives, the new leadership will pursue a comprehensive strategy over the next two years aimed at protecting pensioners’ rights, improving member well-being, and ensuring effective engagement with government departments.
