LAHORE: In punjab assembly a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee-I has held at the under the chairpersonship of Chaudhary Iftikhar Hussain Chhachhar, MPA. Officers from the Punjab Assembly and other government departments attended the meeting.

During the meeting, audit paras relating to the Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering Department, its attached departments, and autonomous bodies were discussed.
These audit paras were related to overpayment due to non-maintaining of quoted rates, overpayment due to the application of inadmissible items, overpayment due to inadmissible contractor’s profit, overpayment due to incorrect rates, overpayment due to non-deduction of shrinkage and inadmissible compaction, and non-payment of commercialization fee.
The Committee directed the Department to ensure the recovery of all the audit paras on a priority basis and to settle the outstanding observations at the earliest.
