LAHORE: A large number of senior business leaders, politicians, trade representatives and officials attended the walima reception hosted by a member executive of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and chairman of the Daroghawala Industrial Owners Association, Shaban Akhtar, on the occasion of the marriage of his son, Ghulam-e-Muhammad, in Lahore.

The ceremony, held at a local farmhouse, drew hundreds of traders and representatives of trade bodies from across the city, with participants describing it as resembling a major traders’ gathering.
Among key personalities present were Federal Minister for Water and Power Ali Pervaiz Malik, Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, former MPA Waheed Gul, and Vice President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mian Anjum Nisar.
Also in attendance were LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol, Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, and leaders linked with Minhaj-ul-Quran including Khuram Nawaz Gandapur.
Senior government and institutional officials present included DG Labour Syeda Kulsoom Hai, Deputy Secretary Rao Zahid, and Board of Investment and Trade official Imran Hashmi.

Prominent trade and business representatives included former LCCI President Muhammad Ali Mian, business leader Tahir Javed Malik, PBG Chairman Ali Hissam Asghar, Progressive Group leader Khalid Usman, PIAF Senior Vice Chairman Nasrullah Mughal and Vice Chairman Tahir Manzoor.
Representatives of legal and tax bodies included Pakistan Tax Bar Chairman Chaudhry Qamar-uz-Zaman and Lahore Tax Bar President Rana Asif, while Lahore Bar representatives were also present.
Former international cricketer Manzoor Elahi was also among the notable guests.
Business associations from multiple sectors, market unions, transport leaders, industrial groups, and representatives of various government departments including power, municipal and labour institutions attended and extended prayers and best wishes for the newly married couple.
Participants described the gathering as a reflection of strong unity within the business community, with trade leaders from across the country joining the celebrations.
