LAHORE: A final-year student of Fatima Jinnah Medical College has died after reportedly falling from the roof of a hostel building in Lahore, according to police and hospital sources.
Hospital officials said the deceased, identified as Fareeha, aged 22, sustained severe head injuries and could not survive despite medical treatment. She was sitting her final professional examinations at the time of the incident.
Preliminary reports suggested the student had been experiencing severe mental stress over recent months. She had already completed one examination paper and was preparing for another scheduled later this week.
Doctors said she was originally from Kashmir and had been living in Lahore with her father before moving following his retirement.
Police said they received an emergency call at approximately 7:55pm reporting that a student had fallen from the third floor of the hostel. She was taken to hospital in critical condition, where she later passed away. Authorities said further investigation is in progress.
