DUBAI (Web Desk) –  Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan has said she is enjoying her current phase of life and career and has no concerns about a future where she may no longer be cast in conventional leading-lady roles.
Speaking during a session titled “From Story to Character” at a literary and cultural event in Dubai, Mahira reflected on fame, success and the evolving nature of an actor’s career.
The actress said she deeply appreciates the support and affection she receives from her fans, describing their connection as one of the most meaningful aspects of her professional journey. She added that audience appreciation continues to motivate her, but she remains aware that popularity and stardom are temporary.
According to Mahira, recognising the short-lived nature of fame helps her remain focused on her craft rather than becoming overly attached to public recognition.
Discussing her career outlook, the actress said she feels comfortable and confident about the future. She explained that she is not troubled by the possibility that traditional heroine roles may become less frequent as she grows older, viewing such changes as a natural part of an actor’s journey.
Mahira noted that every stage of life brings new opportunities and experiences, and she is embracing the transition with a positive mindset. Rather than trying to hold on to a particular image, she said she is excited about exploring fresh creative possibilities.
The actress also encouraged filmmakers and producers to look beyond conventional casting choices and consider her for a broader variety of roles. She expressed a strong interest in portraying layered and unconventional characters that challenge her as a performer.
According to Mahira, diverse roles allow actors to showcase different aspects of their talent and help audiences see them in a new light. She said she would welcome projects that offer unique storytelling and complex character development.
Her comments have resonated with fans and industry observers, many of whom praised her openness to change and commitment to artistic growth.
Widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s most celebrated actresses, Mahira’s remarks highlight her willingness to evolve with time while continuing to seek meaningful and challenging work.
