LAHORE (Web Desk) – The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has announced a scheduled electricity load-shedding plan for July 4 and 5, 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to upgrade power infrastructure and improve the reliability of electricity supply across its distribution network.
According to an official notice issued by the utility, electricity supply will remain suspended in selected areas for several hours while engineers carry out essential maintenance, repairs and system upgrades. The company said the temporary shutdowns are necessary to ensure the safe execution of technical work and minimize the possibility of unexpected power failures in the future.
LESCO stated that the maintenance campaign will be conducted on a feeder-by-feeder basis, meaning different neighborhoods will experience outages at different times depending on their respective electricity feeders. Residents have been advised to consult the official feeder schedule to determine whether their locality will be affected during the two-day maintenance operation.
For July 4, several areas are expected to experience power interruptions between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., while additional feeder-specific shutdowns have also been planned for July 5. The company emphasized that the duration of outages may vary depending on the complexity of maintenance work and prevailing technical conditions.
Officials explained that the planned shutdowns are part of a broader strategy to modernize the electricity distribution system, replace aging equipment and improve the stability of the power network. Regular maintenance is considered essential for preventing equipment failures that often result in prolonged and unplanned outages affecting thousands of consumers.
The utility said maintenance teams will inspect transformers, repair damaged power lines, service distribution equipment and upgrade critical components within the electricity network.
