LAHORE: Lahore police have made major headway in tackling organized crime this year, arresting 6,516 suspects linked to 2,971 criminal gangs, officials said.
A police spokesperson confirmed that stolen property worth over Rs1.46 billion has been recovered so far, including cash, vehicles, gold, electronics, and other valuables.
The recovered items comprise 20 cars, 3,874 motorcycles, 119 other vehicles, 303 tolas of gold, 7,282 mobile phones, and 106 laptops, all seized from the arrested suspects during ongoing operations.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana stated that police is actively pursuing criminal gangs across the city, carrying out operations to curb organized crime. He emphasized that recovered property is being returned to rightful owners, providing immediate relief to citizens affected by theft and robbery.
The CCPO directed officers to step up operations further, stressing that lawbreakers would be brought to justice without exception. He reaffirmed Lahore police’s commitment to protecting the general public and maintaining a safe and secure environment across the city.
“These operations are part of our continuous effort to dismantle criminal networks and ensure citizens can live without fear,” Kamyana added.
