LAHORE (WebDesk) — A Lahore eye doctor, Dr Ali Zain-ul-Abideen, says he was forced to give a patient a large amount of money after she complained about a laser eye surgery done at his clinic.

According to the doctor, the surgery took place in April and was successful. But later, the patient said she was unhappy and asked for money back. The doctor says he first returned Rs150,000 that she paid and claims the patient then received Rs400,000 more from his clinic.
He says he was called to a police station and felt pressured to keep paying her. He claims he handed over cheques worth Rs10 million, one of which was already cashed, and says the total money taken so far is around Rs7.5 million. The doctor also says a police officer came to his clinic again to summon him, and that his security guard was taken to the police station and locked up.
SP Shehrbano Naqvi, the police officer named in the complaint, strongly denies all these accusations. She says the doctor only came to her office once and that she only advised him to settle the matter peacefully. She says no force, pressure, or harassment was used.
So far, no official inquiry has confirmed wrongdoing by anyone. The matter remains a dispute between the doctor and the patient, and will require proper investigation to determine what happened.
