LAHORE – Pakistani actor Imran Abbas has dismissed speculation regarding his return to television, confirming that he has no immediate plans to resume acting and remains focused on his business interests. The actor clarified that reports suggesting he would soon appear in a new television drama are inaccurate.

The clarification came after fans on social media questioned whether the popular actor was preparing for a comeback to the entertainment industry. Responding directly to one of the queries, Imran Abbas stated that he has not signed any television project in recent months and, therefore, no new drama featuring him is scheduled for release.

His statement puts an end to growing speculation that had circulated online following rumors of his possible return to Pakistani television. Fans had anticipated that the actor, known for his performances in several successful drama serials, might announce a new project after remaining away from the screen for an extended period.

Imran Abbas explained that acting is not currently his priority. Instead, he is dedicating his time and energy to expanding his business ventures, which have become his primary professional focus. While he acknowledged the continued love and support of his fans, he indicated that he is satisfied with his current direction outside the entertainment industry.

The actor has maintained a relatively low profile in recent months, making only occasional public appearances and remaining active mainly through social media. Despite his absence from television, his fan following continues to show strong interest in his future plans, frequently asking whether he intends to return to acting.

This is not the first time Imran Abbas has spoken about his decision to stay away from television. In previous interviews, he expressed concerns about the quality of scripts currently being offered by the television industry. According to the actor, many recent projects have lacked originality and strong storytelling, making it difficult for him to accept new roles.

He has consistently emphasized that he would only consider returning if presented with a script that offers meaningful content, a well-developed character and a compelling storyline. For him, selecting the right project is more important than making a quick return to the screen.

Industry observers note that Pakistani television has undergone significant changes in recent years, with increased competition among production houses and a growing demand for fresh content. While many established actors continue to work regularly, others have become more selective, preferring quality productions over frequent appearances.

Imran Abbas has built a reputation for choosing diverse and emotionally driven roles throughout his acting career. His performances in popular television dramas earned him widespread recognition both in Pakistan and internationally. He has also appeared in films and has represented Pakistan at various international entertainment events.

His decision to remain away from television reflects a broader trend among some actors who are exploring business opportunities alongside their entertainment careers. Many celebrities have expanded into entrepreneurship by investing in fashion, hospitality, digital media and other commercial ventures.

Although the actor has not revealed details about his current business projects, he indicated that they require his full attention. This commitment has left little room for television productions, which often involve demanding shooting schedules lasting several months.

Fans continue to express hope that Imran Abbas will eventually return to acting, believing his presence would add depth and star power to upcoming television dramas. Social media platforms were filled with supportive messages after his latest statement, with many encouraging him to return whenever he finds a project that matches his expectations.

Entertainment analysts believe the actor’s return cannot be ruled out permanently. Given his popularity and established reputation, production companies are likely to continue approaching him with new scripts. Should stronger and more innovative stories emerge, the possibility of a comeback remains open.

For now, however, Imran Abbas has made his position clear. He has signed no new television dramas, has no immediate plans to resume acting, and remains committed to pursuing his business ambitions while waiting for a project that truly inspires his return to the screen.
