LAHORE: Lahore Police claimed to have solved the blind murder case of a young woman, Mehrosh Bibi, in the Kahna area after arresting her husband, who allegedly confessed to the crime.
According to police officials, the case came under investigation after Syed Zeeshan Raza took notice of the incident and ordered immediate action.
A special team was formed under the supervision of the SP Investigation Model Town to trace and arrest those involved in the killing. Police said the accused was apprehended during a targeted operation conducted by the Investigation Incharge of Kahna Police Station along with his team.
Police investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly killed his wife by suffocating her with a pillow following domestic disputes. After the murder, he reportedly transported the body on a motorcycle during the night and dumped it into the Rohi Nullah to conceal the crime.
Officials further stated that the accused attempted to mislead investigators by staging a fake kidnapping drama and even registered a case against unidentified persons regarding his wife’s alleged abduction.
The suspect was arrested with the help of modern technology and human intelligence, according to SP Investigation Shahid Nawaz.
DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza said the accused would be brought to justice through strong police-prosecution coordination, adding that those involved in crimes against women and children deserve no leniency.
He also vowed strict action against criminal elements, stating that lawbreakers would be dealt with “with an iron hand.”
Meanwhile, SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed announced commendation certificates for the police team involved in solving the case.
