LAHORE, March 10: Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana has said that foolproof security arrangements will be ensured across the city on the occasion of Youm-e-Shahadat Hazrat Ali (AS).

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting at the Capital City Police Headquarters to review the security plan for Youm-e-Ali (AS) and the performance of Model Town and Cantonment divisions. During the meeting, the security plan for processions and majalis on Youm-e-Ali (AS) was finalized.
The SP (Security) briefed the participants in detail about the security arrangements and route security plan for the processions. The meeting was informed that more than 8,500 police officers and personnel will perform security duties on the occasion.
According to the briefing, the main procession of Youm-e-Ali (AS) will commence from Mubarak Haveli and culminate at Karbala Gamay Shah, while a four-tier security arrangement will be in place for the procession. Security measures for the mourning procession emerging from Batapur were also reviewed during the meeting.
The CCPO Lahore also directed officers to ensure special security arrangements along Metro Bus routes and other sensitive locations in the city.
The meeting further reviewed security arrangements for the last ten days of Ramazan, particularly the odd nights, as well as for the Youm-ul-Quds rally and Eid ul Fitr.
On the occasion, the CCPO directed police officers to adopt an effective strategy to prevent incidents of burglary, while intensifying operations against motorcycle theft and snatching. He also instructed officers to ensure the arrest of Category-B proclaimed offenders and further strengthen police patrolling in the field to improve crime prevention.
CTO Lahore Athar Waheed, DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar, DIG (Investigation) Zeeshan Raza, DIG (Operations) Faisal Kamran, SSP (Operations) Tauqeer Muhammad Naeem, SP (Security), SP (ARF), SP (Dolphin), SP (Headquarters), SP (City), as well as SPs, ASPs, circle officers, SHOs and investigation in-charges of Model Town and Cantonment divisions attended the meeting.
