DEHLI (Web Desk) – Speculation had been circulating in entertainment circles after Diljit Dosanjh was notably absent from the trailer launch of Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga. His absence quickly sparked a wave of assumptions online, with some reports suggesting that the singer-actor might be distancing himself from the film’s promotional campaign entirely. However, those rumors were effectively put to rest when Diljit addressed the situation through a recorded video message played during the event.

In his message, Diljit Dosanjh clarified that his non-attendance was purely due to prior professional commitments rather than any disagreement or disengagement from the project. Speaking warmly to fans and attendees, he greeted everyone and expressed his excitement for the film’s trailer release. He explained that he was currently in Texas, where he was fulfilling a scheduled concert performance. According to him, the show there was completely sold out, making it impossible for him to travel back for the Mumbai event in time.

Despite being physically absent, Diljit made sure to connect with the audience and reassure them of his continued involvement. He mentioned that he was managing his ongoing commitments abroad but emphasized that he would return soon. His tone in the message was casual and affectionate, reflecting his characteristic rapport with fans. He even encouraged viewers to watch the trailer with an open mind and share it widely if they enjoyed it—or even if they didn’t, adding a humorous touch by acknowledging the influence of Imtiaz Ali’s storytelling reputation.

The trailer launch of Main Vaapas Aaunga itself took place in Mumbai on Tuesday and was attended by key members of the cast and crew. Actors Sharvari Wagh and Vedang Raina were present at the event, along with director Imtiaz Ali, who introduced the film’s first look to the audience. Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah also plays an important role in the project, adding further weight to the ensemble.

While Diljit’s absence initially became a talking point, the event continued smoothly, with the cast promoting the film and engaging with the media. His clarification helped shift the focus back to the film’s content rather than the speculation surrounding his schedule. Ultimately, the situation highlighted how busy international touring schedules can sometimes overlap with film promotions, especially for artists like Diljit Dosanjh, without indicating any conflict or withdrawal from the project.
