LAHORE — A delegation representing industrialists from the Bhamma Jhogian Industrial Area Wednesday met Shouban Akhtar, Director of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Patron-in-Chief of the Shamali Lahore Sanat o Tijarat Board, to discuss issues affecting businesses in the area, particularly matters related to the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA).
The meeting was attended by prominent industrialists and business leaders from the industrial zone. The delegation was led by Javid Bhatti, President of McLeod Road, and included Malik Javed, Khalid Traders (Rubber Manufacturers), Ghulam Abbas Butt of Ghulam Abbas Threads, Malik Muhammad Asif of Pak Piston, Zeeshan Ahmed of Iqbal Engineering, and Dilawar Hussain Chughtai of Mechano Engineering.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted a range of concerns linked to RUDA policies and their impact on industrial operations in the Bhamma Jhogian Industrial Area. The industrialists emphasized the importance of resolving these issues promptly to ensure uninterrupted business activities and protect investments made by entrepreneurs operating in the area.
The delegation informed Shouban Akhtar that hundreds of businesses and thousands of workers depend on the continued growth and stability of the industrial zone. They urged relevant authorities to engage with stakeholders and address concerns that could affect industrial productivity and employment.
Responding to the delegation, Shouban Akhtar assured the participants that he would take up their concerns with the relevant authorities and work towards finding an early and amicable resolution. He reiterated his commitment to supporting the business community and facilitating dialogue between industrial stakeholders and government institutions.
Akhtar acknowledged the significant contribution of the Bhamma Jhogian Industrial Area to the local economy and stressed the importance of creating a business-friendly environment that encourages investment, industrial expansion and job creation.
The industrialists expressed confidence in Shouban Akhtar’s leadership and appreciated his willingness to advocate on their behalf. They stated that they have full trust in his efforts to ensure that their concerns are effectively communicated to decision-makers.
Bhamma Jhogian Industrial Area is one of the important industrial clusters in the Lahore region, comprising approximately 550 industrial units operating across various sectors. The area provides employment opportunities to thousands of workers and contributes significantly to industrial production, trade and economic activity in Punjab.
Business leaders at the meeting emphasized that resolving industrial challenges and maintaining close coordination between stakeholders and authorities will be essential for sustaining economic growth and safeguarding employment opportunities in the region.
