LAHORE: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigation Lahore, Syed Zeeshan Raza, visited Mayo Hospital on Saturday to inquire after the health of Constable Ukasha Butt, who was critically injured in a hit-and-run incident in the Shahdara area.

Constable Ukasha sustained severe injuries after being struck by a speeding vehicle while on duty. DIG Investigation expressed his heartfelt sympathies to the injured officer’s family during his visit and assured them of complete support from the department.
While speaking to the media, DIG Zeeshan Raza reiterated that the police force operates as a close-knit family, and it is the department’s duty to stand by its personnel in times of need. “Police is not just a force, it is a family. We will provide all possible facilities and ensure the best treatment for Constable Ukasha,” he stated.
The DIG issued strict directives to the medical team at Mayo Hospital, urging them to provide the highest standard of medical care and all necessary treatment to the injured constable. He further emphasized that the department will bear all medical expenses and will not leave any stone unturned in ensuring the officer’s recovery.
In response to the incident, DIG Zeeshan Raza also issued immediate instructions to SP City Investigation to arrest the suspect involved in the hit-and-run without delay. He expressed full confidence in the police team and assured the public that the absconding suspect would be apprehended soon.
“The accused will be brought to justice at the earliest. I have tasked the SP City Investigation to ensure the arrest is made without delay,” said DIG Raza.
