Former President of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, Abid Saqi Advocate, speaking at the event, said that sustainable democracy requires strong federal institutions and a depoliticized administrative structure. He highlighted that past imbalances between institutions have contributed to political challenges, and urged political parties to take ownership of their democratic responsibilities by becoming more organized and policy-focused.

Saqi also praised the book, stating that it presents an analytical perspective on political systems and offers valuable insight for students of politics and governance. He added that the author has effectively argued that political leadership must remain central to national decision-making.

Also speaking on the occasion, former Federal Secretary Tariq Najeeb Najmi underscored the need for all state institutions to operate within their constitutional limits. He said that strengthening civil service and ensuring institutional independence is key to national progress.

Author Rana Azam Advocate spoke about the themes of his book, which explores the contemporary relevance of political theories in Pakistan’s current landscape. He emphasized the role of informed political discourse in shaping a just and democratic society.

Senior legal figure Abid Hassan Minto was present at the event but could not speak due to health concerns.

The event was attended by academics, legal professionals, and civil society members.
