In a successful operation, four members of an active and notorious theft gang — including two women — were apprehended. The arrested suspects have been identified as female thieves Aqsa and Rabia, along with their accomplices Aqib and Usama.
During the operation, the police recovered a substantial amount of stolen items from the suspects, including USD 4,000 and Rs. 500,000 in cash. In addition, the team seized 15 high-value mobile phones, 14 laptops, and illegal weapons from the possession of the accused.
According to Incharge Nasir Amin, the gang specialized in monitoring residential areas and conducting reconnaissance of houses. They would break in and commit thefts when the residents were away. The arrested suspects confessed to their involvement in numerous incidents across various parts of Lahore during interrogation.
SP Investigation Model Town Dr. Ayaz Hussain stated that the arrest was made possible through the use of advanced technology and human intelligence. He further asserted that a strong challan (case file) will be submitted in court to ensure exemplary punishment for the accused.
DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza emphasized that Lahore’s Investigation Police are fully committed to protecting the lives and properties of the citizens. He warned that all criminal elements will be dealt with an iron hand. SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed has also announced commendation certificates for the police team involved in the operation.
The arrest of this gang is seen as a significant blow to organized house thefts in the region and reflects the Lahore police’s growing effectiveness through a blend of strategy, intelligence, and swift action.
