LAHORE: In a successful enforcement action led by Collector of Customs Airports, Ms Tayyba Kiyani, a significant quantity of assorted goods classified under PCT heading 54 was seized at Allama Iqbal International Airport today.

The operation was carried out by Shift-3 Superintendent Imran Mirza, Deputy Collector, and their vigilant team, under the ongoing campaign to curb smuggling through airports.
According to customs sources, a female passenger arriving from Dubai via flight PK-204 attempted to pass through the Green Channel while carrying undeclared goods valued at over Rs. 5 million. The items included a range of assorted commercial goods, not personal luggage, and fell under import restrictions applicable to passengers.
The passenger was intercepted based on profiling and non-declaration at the customs counter. Upon inspection, customs officers discovered that the baggage contained a commercial quantity of diverse goods in violation of prevailing customs regulations. The consignment was seized on the spot, and further proceedings are now underway.
This successful operation is part of a broader campaign initiated by the Customs Collectorate (Airports), which has recently intensified checks and intelligence-based profiling to intercept smuggling attempts. Over the last few weeks, major seizures including diamonds, high-end mobile phones, and other restricted items have been made at key airports including Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan, creating a strong deterrent effect.
Collector Tayyba Kiyani has been at the forefront of this campaign, ensuring strict supervision and motivating enforcement teams to uphold the rule of law. Senior customs officials have praised the performance of the Lahore Airport enforcement team for its alertness and commitment to national duty.
A customs official stated, “The success of this seizure reflects the dedication of our officers and the seriousness of the department in enforcing anti-smuggling measures. We are fully committed to disrupting illegal trade and protecting Pakistan’s legitimate economy.”
The passenger is being interrogated, and the case has been forwarded for adjudication under customs law. Authorities reaffirm that Pakistan Customs will continue to pursue a zero-tolerance policy against smuggling and will take strict action against individuals found violating customs and import laws.
