On this occasion, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan stated that the Indian government is currently consumed by war hysteria and is deliberately attempting to destabilize the region.

He termed the Pahalgam incident a major failure of India’s security system, and placing blame on Pakistan for it is an extremely irresponsible act. India neither possesses any evidence regarding the Pahalgam incident nor has the world accepted these accusations. Pakistan has also offered to conduct an independent investigation.

Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan reminded that Pakistan is the country most affected by terrorism, having sacrificed over 80,000 lives and achieved numerous victories in this war over the past two decades. The Pakistan Army is one of the most professional forces in the world and is prepared for all forms of warfare. He emphasized that the Indus Waters Treaty is not a unilateral agreement, and India has no authority to revoke it. Doing so would be a violation of international laws and would entail serious consequences.

Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan further stated that, God forbid, if any nuclear adventurism is undertaken, it would affect billions of people around the world and bring generations to the brink of destruction. He affirmed that Pakistan is a nuclear power and possesses full capability to defend itself.

He paid tribute to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and the Pakistani media for demonstrating maturity and representing the national stance in an exemplary manner during this critical time. He also criticized the Indian media for deliberately fueling war hysteria and hatred to cover up their political failures.

Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan stressed that he has always been an advocate for dialogue, but when one’s very existence is denied, the defense of the country becomes the top priority. The people of Pakistan stand firmly with their armed forces and salute every soldier guarding the borders.

Criticizing the opposition party PTI, he added that their refusal to attend a key briefing on national security was a short-sighted decision.

Concluding the press conference, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan warned India not to be under the illusion that it could establish supremacy in the region. The Pakistani nation and state will not tolerate any such aggression. Pakistan is a responsible state and knows how to defend its rights under international law.
