LAHORE – The Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) has expressed heartfelt gratitude to overseas Pakistanis for sending $28 billion in remittances during the current fiscal year.

In a joint statement, PIAF Chairman Syed Mian Mehmood Ghaznavi, Senior Vice Chairman Mudasar Masood Chaudhry, and Vice Chairman Raja Waseem Hassan praised the government’s announcement of a new incentive package for overseas Pakistanis, calling it a commendable step.
They described overseas Pakistanis as the “pride of the nation” and projected that remittances may reach $38 billion by June 30—potentially surpassing national exports. They also welcomed the government’s move to nominate top remittance senders for civil awards through the State Bank of Pakistan, recognizing their exceptional contribution to the economy.
The PIAF leaders stressed the vital role remittances play in stabilizing Pakistan’s economy and urged policymakers to consider these inflows with the same weight as exports when drafting national economic policy.
Expressing concern over the illegal occupation of properties belonging to overseas Pakistanis, they called for stronger enforcement and welcomed the establishment of special courts for timely resolution of their legal cases. They also emphasized the need for full protocol and priority treatment for overseas Pakistanis at public offices upon their return to Pakistan.
