In a joint statement, PIAF Chairman Syed Mehmood Ghaznavi, Senior Vice Chairman Muddassir Masood Chaudhry, and Vice Chairman Raja Waseem Hassan emphasized that the government must immediately initiate formal diplomatic negotiations to seek a permanent removal of the tariff.
The PIAF leaders noted that the suspension offers significant relief to Pakistan’s exporters and has temporarily eased their concerns. They urged the government not to delay talks and to ensure that ongoing efforts are pursued without interruption.
They also stressed the need for Pakistan to explore new international markets and provide exporters and manufacturers with the necessary support to compete globally. Furthermore, they called for stronger government linkages with exporters and the launch of policies offering financial and technical assistance to transform small industries into export-oriented sectors.
