In a public statement attributed to Federation’s Akbar Khan, the unions highlighted the need for timely action to alleviate financial challenges faced by serving employees, pensioners, and widows.
The unions representing various regions, including Punjab, Islamabad, Quetta, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and others, expressed hope that the administration would prioritize these matters in the spirit of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid festivities.
“We had anticipated that during Ramadan, known for its blessings and forgiveness, the bank management would take proactive steps to address the economic issues of its employees and pensioners. However, no official announcement has been made yet,” Akbar Khan said.
The federation stressed that ensuring financial relief for employees and pensioners is both a moral responsibility and a legal entitlement. “We sincerely hope the administration will include all employee categories in the joy of Eid by taking immediate steps to resolve these issues,” the statement added.
The unions called for amicable solutions through dialogue and collaboration but also mentioned the possibility of peaceful protests after Eid if demands remain unmet.
The NBP Trade Unions Federation reiterated its commitment to resolving employee concerns through lawful and constructive engagement.
