DC Syed Musa Raza and MNA Afzal Khokhar co-chair meeting to finalise arrangements

LAHORE: Deputy Commissioner Lahore, Syed Musa Raza, and Member National Assembly Malik Afzal Khokhar co-chaired a meeting to discuss arrangements for model bazaars in preparation for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Lahore, Assistant Commissioners, and other officials. Assistant Commissioners provided a briefing on the preparations, stating that model bazaars will feature stalls for groceries, vegetables, and other essential commodities.

A price control magistrate and a representative from the market committee will be present to ensure fair pricing. Stalls for flour and sugar will also be set up. DC Lahore, Syed Musa Raza, announced that the district administration will set up their own stalls in each model bazaar.
He directed that special attention be paid to parking and cleanliness in the model bazaars and emphasised that the district administration will ensure the quality and quantity of goods. He reiterated that food items will be provided at wholesale rates in the model bazaars.
MNA Afzal Khokhar stated that the public will be provided with every possible facility in the model bazaars, including walk-through gates and security personnel. He added that the market committee will procure goods from the market at lower prices and supply them to the model bazaars. Basin and pulses will also be available at wholesale rates.
Sugar will be sold at 130 rupees per kilogram, with a maximum purchase limit of 5 kilograms per person. Flour will be available at 800 rupees, with a representative from the flour mill present. Chicken will be available at 15 rupees per kilogram less than the market price, and eggs will be 6 rupees per dozen cheaper.
For the first time, stalls are being set up in model bazaars without subsidies. DC Lahore, Syed Musa Raza, directed that relief to the public should be ensured in the model bazaars, adding that all institutions will work together to make the Ramadan model bazaars a success.
