LAHORE: In the Punjab Assembly session, the government passed 12 bills by a majority vote from the house in a single day. The opposition protested loudly, booed and walked out of the house in the Punjab Assembly.

The Punjab Assembly session began with a delay of one and a half hours under the chairmanship of Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan. At the very beginning, the opposition protested by booing during Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb’s speech, and the Speaker made sarcastic remarks.

In response to the questions of the members, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the government had taken strict measures to combat smog, which resulted in a reduction in smog. The current government has done what the previous government could not do.
In the Punjab Assembly session, the draft law on the Punjab Alternative Dispute Resolution Amendment 2025, the Punjab Kite Flying Prohibition Amendment 2025, the draft law on the Examination of Offenders Amendment 2025, the Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority Amendment 2025, the Punjab Protected Areas Amendment Act 2025, the Punjab Wildlife Amendment Act 2025, the Punjab Water and Sanitation Authority Amendment Act 2025, the Rawalpindi Defense Housing Authority Amendment Act 2025, the Overseas Pakistanis Property Special Courts Establishment Bill, the Punjab Tianjin University of Technology Lahore Amendment Act 2025, the Ameer Chakar Khan Rind University of Technology Dera Ghazi Khan Amendment Act and the Punjab University of Technology Amendment Act were approved. In the Punjab Assembly session, the Speaker ruled that the departments should respond to the members’ business, including the adjournment motion, in a timely manner.
