Surpasses Q1, Q2 targets

LAHORE – The Collectorate of Customs Appraisement (West), Lahore, has achieved a historic milestone by collecting Rs2.6 billion in Customs Duty during December 2024, marking the highest monthly collection since the Collectorate’s establishment. This remarkable accomplishment has enabled the Collectorate to surpass its revenue targets for both the first and second quarters of FY 2024-25.
In the first quarter of FY 2024-25, the Collectorate collected Rs5.11 billion, followed by Rs6.3 billion in the second quarter, achieving 101 per cent of the assigned targets for both quarters. Overall, this performance represents a significant increase of Rs2.8 billion compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year, reflecting an impressive 34 per cent growth.
Collector Beleem Ramzan attributed this exceptional performance to the unwavering commitment and tireless efforts of the Collectorate’s team, emphasizing a strict zero-tolerance policy against corruption, misdeclaration, and tax evasion under the dynamic leadership of Chief Collector Rubab Sikandar. “This record-breaking performance is a testament to our team’s dedication to ensuring revenue targets are met and exceeded while upholding the principles of transparency and integrity,” said Ramzan.

In addition to its revenue achievements, the Collectorate has maintained strict vigilance to curb misdeclaration and evasion of duties and taxes. During the current fiscal year, 106 contraventions were framed, with 99 successfully adjudicated in favor of the Collectorate. These efforts have led to the recovery of Rs334 million in duties, taxes, fines, and penalties through willful deposits by offenders.
The Collectorate remains determined to sustain this momentum for the remainder of the fiscal year, aiming to set new benchmarks in revenue collection, vigilance, and trade facilitation.
