KARACHI: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has hailed Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s address during the historic public gathering on the 17th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, emphasizing that his articulation of the nation’s pressing challenges reflects the genuine concerns of a true people’s leader.

PPP Parliamentarians Central Secretary Information and Member of the National Assembly, Shazia Atta Marri said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari does not indulge in ambiguous politics but is a straightforward leader. She emphasized that when the people of Pakistan are in distress, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will raise his voice.

Shazia Marri further said that the PPP’s issues with the federal government are serious and cannot be resolved through threats or coercion.

During a press conference along with Surendar Valasai Incharge Media Cell Bilawal House, Shazia Atta Marri remarked that the enthusiastic participation from every corner of the country on the 17th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto has set a new precedent. She expressed confidence that the spirit and determination with which people gathered in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh is a testament to their commitment to continuing the mission of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

MNA Shazia Atta Marri pointed out that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is deeply concerned about the federal government’s approach to addressing the country’s challenges. She highlighted that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari rightly stated in his speech that the people of Pakistan desire political and economic stability, relief from inflation and poverty, and demand prosperity. However, while the government presents impressive statistics, these do not translate into tangible benefits for the people.

Criticizing the federal government’s unilateral decision-making, Ms. Marri warned that such actions can have grave consequences. She specifically condemned the decision to construct six new canals from the Indus River, calling it a blatant violation of the IRSA Act and the 1991 Water Accord. She noted that whenever the 1991 Accord is misused, the PPP has raised its voice against it.

She lauded Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for equipping the country with nuclear and missile technology, emphasizing that Pakistan stands as a strong nation today due to these visionary initiatives. She reiterated Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s assertion that if Pakistan’s nuclear assets or missile technology are ever under threat, the entire nation must unite to defend them.

Addressing international criticism, MNA Shazia Marri remarked that when staunch supporters of Israel in the U.S. speak against Pakistan’s defense assets, their local allies celebrate. She noted that these pro-Israel elements are not only advocating sanctions on Pakistan’s missile technology but also supporting an accused in prison. Marri challenged Imran Khan to openly condemn such actions if he truly believes these individuals are wrong to target Pakistan’s defense assets. However, she noted his silence on the matter and declared that the PPP will not allow anyone to compromise Pakistan’s interests.

Shazia Atta Marri criticized the federal government for failing to convene a Council of Common Interests (CCI) meeting, terming it a constitutional violation. She highlighted that the federal Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) allocated only seven projects worth PKR 77.2 billion to Sindh, compared to 34 projects worth PKR 693.4 billion for Punjab, 21 projects for Balochistan, and 30 for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

She also criticized the federal energy minister for his arrogant attitude and unserious demeanor in parliamentary sessions. Marri recalled that the minister admitted in the House to providing incorrect answers initially, only to correct them later. She emphasized that the PPP’s rejection of politics based on hatred and division should not be mistaken for weakness.Additionally, PPP Parliamentarians Central Secretary Information condemned the federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments for neglecting the people of Parachinar, leaving them without support amidst their struggles.
