ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has hosted a lavish dinner in the honour of foreign dignitaries who are attending the SCO summit in the country.
LAmong the many high-level officials of the participating states, a little meetup between the PM and the Indian Foreign Minister grabbed the most media attention.
This is the first visit of its kind by an Indian official. However, it merits mention that there is a little hope for any breaking of the ice in Indo-Pak ties as the visiting Indian FM clarified some days ago that he would not discuss any bilateral ties during his visit.
Also, Chinese Premier was also received by the PM. This is the first visit by a Chinese premier in 11 years.
China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will be represented by their prime ministers while Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref will be attending the summit, the Foreign Office said.
