During the meeting, the Chairman directed all Commissionerates to develop effective strategies for identifying new taxable services and bringing them into the tax net.
Directions were given to accelerate the registration of new businesses and the installation of the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (E-IMS). Targets were assigned to relevant officers to increase E-IMS installations across 14 designated sectors.
Enforcement teams will be constituted to ensure increased business registration and E-IMS installation. The Chairman also directed officers to ensure effective monitoring of pending tax cases and timely recovery of outstanding dues.
Emphasizing collaboration with the business community, Chairman PRA stated that the process of integrating businesses with E-IMS should be expedited with the support of chambers of commerce and relevant trade associations.
He further directed strict monitoring of businesses involved in manipulating or tampering with their records despite having E-IMS installed.
The Chairman made it clear that strict action would be taken against business operators issuing fake receipts, and tax surcharge would also be imposed on those found involved in such practices.
