LAHORE (Web Desk) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has reiterated her commitment to ensuring justice for underprivileged citizens after sharing a social media video showing the arrest of a man accused of assaulting a petrol pump employee.
The video, posted on her official social media account on October 23, shows the suspect in police custody as the petrol pump employee slaps him.
In her statement, Maryam Nawaz criticised individuals who allegedly use wealth, social status or influence to mistreat people from less privileged backgrounds and believe they can escape legal consequences.
The chief minister said her government stood with victims of injustice, regardless of the power or connections of those accused of wrongdoing.
She stressed that every citizen deserved equal protection under the law and that financial resources or political influence should not provide immunity from accountability.
Maryam Nawaz also emphasised that victims should not be left without support when confronting influential individuals. She pledged to make every possible effort to ensure that those seeking justice receive appropriate assistance.
The incident has renewed attention to the treatment of workers and the importance of safeguarding the rights of people in vulnerable employment situations.
Authorities are expected to handle the case through the relevant legal procedures. The allegations against the arrested man remain subject to investigation and due process.
The chief minister’s statement underscores the Punjab government’s stated position that justice should be accessible to all citizens, irrespective of their financial standing or social connections.
