LAHORE : The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Lahore has arrested a social media influencer accused of harassing and defaming a female journalist through an allegedly abusive video posted online.
According to sources, the suspect was identified as Muhammad Shehzeb, also known as Shehzeb Sialkoti, a resident of Sialkot. The case was registered following a complaint by the journalist, who alleged that the suspect uploaded insulting and humiliating content about her on Facebook.
Officials reportedly conducted a raid at City Housing Society in Sialkot after receiving information about the suspect and obtaining approval from the NCCIA Lahore additional director. Two mobile phones were recovered during the operation.
A preliminary technical examination reportedly found that the suspect’s Facebook, two Instagram accounts and TikTok account were active on the recovered devices. Investigators also discovered the allegedly controversial video in the downloads folder of an iPhone.
Sources further claimed that the suspect’s Facebook and TikTok accounts were monetised and linked to a private bank account. He allegedly generated income by publishing roasting content and controversial videos on social media.
During interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted to uploading the video on September 10, 2026, before subsequently deleting it.
The NCCIA is continuing its investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged harassment and examine the available digital evidence.
The arrest highlights growing scrutiny of online behaviour and the use of social media platforms to target individuals. Authorities have repeatedly stressed the importance of addressing cyber harassment while ensuring that allegations are investigated through the proper legal process.
