Ali Hussam Asghar vows stronger business-government coordination as FPCCI delegation visits LCCI

LAHORE: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Ali Hussam Asghar has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening coordination between the business community and the government to resolve industrial and commercial issues and promote Pakistan’s economic growth.

He expressed these views during a visit by a delegation of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), which congratulated him, Senior Vice President Sardar Usman Ghani and Vice President Khadim Hussain Chaudhry on assuming their respective offices.
The delegation’s visit provided an opportunity for leading business representatives to discuss the importance of institutional cooperation, industrial stability and a business-friendly environment.
Prominent members of the delegation included United Business Group Patron-in-Chief SM Tanveer, FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh, former Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry president and former FPCCI Senior Vice President Khalid Tawab, Sargodha Chamber Group Leader Amir Ata Bajwa and others.
FPCCI Vice Presidents Bilal and Qurratul Ain, UBG Senior Vice Chairman Momin Malik, Zaki Aijaz, Contractors Association of Pakistan Chairman Tariq Nazir, Lahore Business Forum Chairman and All Pakistan Customs Association Group Leader Amjad Chaudhry, former LCCI vice president Haris Atiq and executive committee members Chaudhry Tahir Manzoor, Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali and Muhammad Yasin also attended.
Ali Hussam Asghar emphasised the importance of effective engagement with the federal government and relevant ministries to address the concerns of traders and industrialists and facilitate commercial and industrial activities.
He highlighted the LCCI’s role in representing the business community, bringing industry-related challenges to the attention of policymakers and pursuing practical solutions through institutional dialogue.
The LCCI leadership is also working to promote commercial activity and improve markets through coordinated efforts with government departments and relevant authorities.
Participants paid tribute to the vision of the late SM Munir, highlighting the importance of cooperation between the government and business community in achieving economic development, industrial stability and national prosperity.
They stressed that business organisations should work closely with policymakers to identify challenges, develop practical recommendations and create conditions conducive to investment and enterprise.
The delegation’s visit also underscored the importance of coordination among chambers of commerce across Pakistan to strengthen the collective voice of the private sector.
Participants observed that closer cooperation between government institutions and business leaders could help improve the business environment, encourage investment and support employment generation.
The meeting concluded with a shared emphasis on strengthening business-government engagement and promoting a coordinated approach to Pakistan’s economic challenges.
