LAHORE – The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has urged the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) to immediately restore electricity supply in K&S Blocks, Main Ghazi Road, DHA Phase II, Lahore, citing prolonged power outages that have disrupted the daily lives of residents.
In a letter addressed to LESCO Chief Executive Engineer Engr. Ramzan Butt, LCCI Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh requested urgent intervention to restore electricity and replace ageing transformers and obsolete transmission infrastructure in the affected area.
According to the LCCI letter, residents of K&S Blocks have been facing prolonged electricity outages, which the chamber attributed to ageing transformers and outdated transmission lines requiring immediate replacement.
The chamber stated that the issue had previously been raised with LESCO officials during a meeting, where assurances were reportedly given that corrective measures would be taken. However, the letter expressed concern that no practical action had been implemented despite those assurances.
“Residents have been without electricity for the last two days, causing severe inconvenience and disrupting their daily lives,” the LCCI stated in the letter.
The chamber further said that complaints regarding electricity supply in the locality had been raised repeatedly over the past year. According to the letter, local LESCO officials, including the concerned Executive Engineer (XEN) and Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), had cited limited resources and insufficient staff as reasons for delays in resolving the issue.
Seeking immediate action, the LCCI urged the LESCO chief to direct the relevant field formations to restore electricity supply on a priority basis and replace outdated transformers and transmission lines to prevent similar disruptions in the future.
A copy of the letter was also forwarded to Federal Minister for Energy (Power Division) Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari for information and necessary action.
The LCCI, one of Pakistan’s leading business organisations representing the interests of traders and industrialists, has frequently raised concerns regarding energy supply, infrastructure and issues affecting business activity in Lahore.
Power outages remain a recurring concern for residents and businesses in various parts of the provincial capital, affecting households, commercial establishments and economic activity.

Ramzan Butt through multiple telephone calls and WhatsApp messages to seek the utility’s response to the concerns raised in the LCCI letter.
