LONDON (Web Desk) – Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo is set to begin a new chapter in his career by making his first appearance in a scripted television drama, Day Is, where he will serve as both an executive producer and a member of the cast in a series inspired by the competitive world of British football.
The project marks Ronaldo’s first major venture into scripted entertainment after years of appearing in documentaries, commercials and sports-related productions. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will now take on a creative role behind the camera while also appearing on screen.
The drama is being produced by UR Marv Studios, the entertainment company co-founded by Ronaldo and acclaimed British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, whose directing credits include the successful Kingsman and Kick-Ass film franchises.
According to the production team, Day Is will focus on the high-pressure environment of professional football, exploring the business, ambition and personal relationships that shape the modern game.
British actor Damian Lewis has been cast in the lead role of Stanley Dalton, a fictional elite football agent whose career forms the center of the story. Ronaldo will appear alongside former Arsenal and France striker Thierry Henry, adding real football star power to the fictional drama.
The series has been created by football agent Darren Dein, who is also serving as an executive producer. Producers say the storyline aims to offer viewers a realistic look into the behind-the-scenes operations of elite football, including player transfers, contract negotiations, media attention and the commercial pressures surrounding the sport.
Filming is already underway at Barnet FC’s stadium in north-west London, where production crews have begun shooting several scenes. Reports indicate that British rapper Dave and newcomer Carlotta Banat have also joined the cast, giving the project a blend of established performers and fresh talent.
Industry observers believe the drama could generate strong interest from international streaming platforms due to Ronaldo’s global popularity and the growing demand for football-based entertainment content.
For Ronaldo, the series represents another step in expanding his business interests beyond the football pitch. In recent years, he has invested in media, hospitality, technology and digital ventures while continuing his professional playing career.
