LAHORE- Secretary Auqaf and Religious Affairs and Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab Dr Ehsan Bhutta has said that providing the best possible facilities to millions of devotees arriving from across Pakistan and abroad for the annual Urs of Data Darbar is a top priority of the Punjab Government.
He made these remarks while chairing a high-level review meeting at Data Darbar to assess preparations for the upcoming Urs celebrations. The meeting was attended by Administrator Data Darbar Muhammad Ali Khan, Khateeb Data Darbar Mosque Mufti Mukhtar Ahmad Nadeem, Convener Langar Committee Mansoor Rizvi, Convener Doodh Sabeel Committee Imran Hanafi, SSP Special Branch Tariq Aziz and other senior officials.
During the meeting, Mufti Mukhtar Ahmad Nadeem briefed participants about the schedule of religious programmes. He said preliminary two-day religious activities would be held on July 30 and 31, followed by the main three-day annual Urs celebrations from August 2 to 4.
The celebrations will include international Qirat and Naat competitions, spiritual gatherings and religious conferences featuring renowned Islamic scholars from Pakistan and abroad.
Officials also presented detailed security and administrative plans for the event. The arrangements include uninterrupted langar and milk sabeel services, 24-hour CCTV monitoring, medical camps, chilled drinking water facilities, sanitation measures, and organised traffic and parking management.
Dr Ehsan Bhutta directed all departments concerned to ensure close coordination and maintain the highest standards of service for devotees. He said no negligence or compromise regarding the safety, comfort and hospitality of pilgrims would be tolerated.
He further instructed senior officers to personally monitor arrangements around the clock to ensure smooth execution of all plans.
Dr Bhutta said all efforts would be made to maintain an atmosphere of peace, discipline and devotion during the Urs while preserving the sanctity of the religious occasion.
