KARACHI (Web Desk) – The Sindh government is expected to present its budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year in the provincial assembly next week, according to official sources.

Sources said June 16 and 17 are being considered as possible dates for the presentation of the provincial financial plan, which will detail the government’s projected revenues and expenditures for the upcoming fiscal year.

Officials revealed that the budget preparation process was delayed due to the need to comply with conditions set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and requirements under the National Fiscal Pact. Despite the setbacks, the government intends to secure the budget’s approval from the Sindh Assembly before the commencement of Ashura.

Under assembly procedures, lawmakers must hold at least five days of debate on the budget before the approval process can be finalised.

Sources also indicated that Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah is expected to present the budget for the tenth time in the provincial assembly, further extending his record.
