Special Judge Central Humayun Dilawar approved the interim bail on Monday after Abbasi appeared before the court along with her counsel, Naeem Bukhari, and filed a pre-arrest bail application. The court accepted surety bonds worth Rs50,000 and instructed her to join the inquiry process. The hearing was adjourned until 15 April for further proceedings.
According to officials, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered two cases against Abbasi concerning the alleged running of an unlawful clinic. She is also on bail in a separate money laundering case.
Earlier, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had reinstated her interim bail in the money laundering case and directed her to approach the trial court for further proceedings.
The latest development comes after her pre-arrest bail plea was previously dismissed by the special judge due to her non-appearance. In a written order, the judge observed that Abbasi failed to attend the hearing despite the case being scheduled and rejected her request for exemption on medical grounds, terming it a misuse of the relief granted under pre-arrest bail.
Following that decision, Abbasi moved the IHC, which granted interim relief and allowed her to seek remedy before the trial court.
