ISLAMABAD (News Desk)— Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has given formal approval for Pakistan’s national cricket team to play against India in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, according to a government announcement on Sunday.

The high-profile match is scheduled for February 15 and will be played as per the official tournament schedule. The decision follows extensive consultations involving the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the International Cricket Council (ICC), and other regional cricket boards.
A government statement said PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi briefed the prime minister on the outcomes of high-level discussions with representatives from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates and other member countries. These talks aimed to find practical solutions to recent challenges faced by Pakistan cricket.
The government welcomed supportive statements from the Bangladesh Cricket Board and reaffirmed solidarity with friendly nations. Officials said the decision reflects Pakistan’s commitment to fair play, continuity of international cricket, and respect for the spirit of the sport.
The prime minister and the nation extended best wishes to the “Men in Green,” expressing confidence that the team will play with pride and determination on the global stage.
