All accused denied the allegations and chose to face trial. Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo directed the prosecution to present its witnesses at the next hearing, scheduled for February 23.
The cases were registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), which launched action against a number of YouTubers and TikTokers for allegedly advertising gambling and betting apps to the public through their online accounts.
Rehman was arrested by the NCCIA in August last year and was later granted bail by the Lahore High Court on November 24.
According to case details, the inquiry was initiated on June 13, 2025, after authorities received information from credible sources that social media influencers were promoting betting applications for financial gain. The case was registered under various provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, along with relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code related to fraud and cheating.
In December, Rehman uploaded a nearly one-hour video on YouTube alleging that he was subjected to physical and verbal abuse while in NCCIA custody.
Separately, in October, six NCCIA officials were placed on three-day physical remand over allegations of misuse of authority, extortion, and bribery, following a complaint filed by Aroob Jatoi. Earlier, in September, NCCIA Lahore Additional Director Sarfraz Chaudhry was removed from his position amid multiple controversies, including allegations of assaulting Rehman.
