Pakistan, Uzbekistan explore new opportunities for joint ventures and industrial growth at LCCI

LAHORE, January 14 –The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Wednesday hosted a high-level 16-member delegation from Uzbekistan, aimed at boosting trade, investment, and industrial cooperation between the two countries. The delegation was led by Minhajiddin Raufov, leader of the delegation.

The meeting was chaired by LCCI President Faheem ur Rehman Saigol, who was joined by Vice President Khurram Lodhi. LCCI Executive Committee Members Rana Shaouban Akhtar, Syed Salman Ali, Karamat Ali Awan, Asif Khan, Mohsin Bashir, and Syed Hassan Raza were also present.

Welcoming the delegation, LCCI President Saigol underscored the Chamber’s position as a premier business support organization, representing more than 48,000 members across various sectors of the economy. He highlighted the importance of high-level visits in creating avenues for industrial partnerships, knowledge sharing, and joint business ventures. He emphasized that Pakistan and Uzbekistan share not only historic ties but also complementary economic strengths that can be leveraged for mutual growth.

In his remarks, Minhajiddin Raufov expressed gratitude for the warm reception and appreciation for the longstanding friendship between the two nations. They highlighted Pakistan’s expertise in the textile, garment, and leather industries and expressed interest in leveraging Pakistan’s experience to strengthen Uzbekistan’s industrial production capabilities. The delegation also noted that during recent official visits by Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Pakistan, Uzbek working groups had toured industrial hubs in Faisalabad and other regions, identifying significant opportunities for investment, joint ventures, and industrial collaboration.

The Uzbek officials emphasized the need to establish joint industrial and textile units, particularly in Lahore, as part of a broader strategy to promote city-to-city cooperation and mutually beneficial economic development. They expressed optimism that increased collaboration could also open doors for technological exchange, workforce training, and enhanced market access for products from both countries.

LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol expressed confidence that this visit could mark the beginning of a new era of industrial and trade cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. “Both countries have tremendous potential for collaboration, particularly in manufacturing, agriculture, and textiles. Strategic partnerships and joint ventures will strengthen not only economic ties but also the broader bilateral relationship,” he said.
