ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has imposed a minor penalty on Ahmed Naveed Warraich, Senior Auditor (Time Scale 17) at the Regional Tax Office, Lahore, after concluding disciplinary proceedings under the Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 2020.

The proceedings were initiated on the charge of inefficiency, and an inquiry officer submitted a report recommending a minor penalty of withholding two annual increments.
A show-cause notice was issued, and the officer was given the opportunity to respond and appear for a personal hearing.
After reviewing the case record and recommendations, the competent authority approved the minor penalty of withholding increments for two years.
Additionally, the officer’s performance allowance will be suspended for six months, with restoration subject to fresh evaluation.
Warraich has the right to appeal the decision under the Civil Servants (Appeals) Rules, 1977 within thirty days of notification.
