LAHORE: In the Punjab Assembly session, PPP members expressed reservations over the operations of CCD. PPP MpAs said that if CCD’s performance is so good, then its scope should be extended to the Kacha area.

The Punjab Assembly session began under the chairmanship of Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan. During the question hour, government members raised objections to the answers submitted by the Communications Department. Several members, including government members Ahsan Raza and Saeed Akbar Nawani, said that the department was submitting routine answers to conduct a house-to-house search. While defending the department, Communications Minister Sohaib Bharath said that he personally monitors the development projects being carried out in the entire province. On this occasion, the Punjab Assembly Speaker said that it would be a very serious act to misrepresent in the House.
In the House, Pakistan People’s Party MpAs Mumtaz Chang and Shazia Abid raised questions over the operations carried out by CCD. The members of the Assembly said that if CCD’s performance is so good, it should be used against the dacoits in Kutch. Strong action should also be taken against, there are reservations about the operations carried out by CCD
A resolution was unanimously passed in the Punjab Assembly by government member Ahmed Iqbal Chaudhry to strengthen Article 140A of the Constitution. Six bills, including the National University of Toba Tek Singh Bill 2025, were passed by a majority vote in the meeting. In the meeting, government member Shagufta Faisal congratulated the Chief Minister on his birthday. After the agenda was completed, Panel of Chairperson Shaukat Raja adjourned the Punjab Assembly session prorogued
