LAHORE: Air pollution in Lahore has started to cross dangerous levels. Yesterday, the air quality index level in some areas of the city crossed 200, due to maney citizens started suffering from various diseases. The index reached 213 in the Harbanspura area, while it reached 126 in Wahdat Road 110, Ring Road 111, Airport Road 113, and Sagian Bypass 123 in Shahdara.

Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, while addressing an environment event , said that a lot of work is being done on AQI in Punjab. Actions are being taken against vehicles emitting smoke. For the first time, a mobile fuel testing lab has been set up. In the last eight months, eight hundred electric buses have been run across Punjab. In the next four years, we will have a green transport. We are bringing a green credit program for the youth of the country. We face difficulties due to burning of crop residues in Indian Punjab areas. We are also working to make Punjab plastic-free. All plastic factories in Punjab are being registered. If children do not go to school due to smog, then see how much damage is caused. Smog is not a calamity from Allah, what is our fault? We have to fix smog. Wonderful work is being done at the federal and Punjab levels. Big projects are coming. Anti-smog systems are being built and anti-smog guns are being installed.
